Hmm... I never do composites but like her I usually edit the photo the way I remember the moment.
I don't mention the usual/slight global adjustments but if there is more specific local adjustments done to the image I wouldn't hesitate to mention it.
That's pretty much how I feel about post processing. Usually OOC the images don't match my recollection of the image, so they need a little help.
Back in the film days we chose our transparency films based on how different brands rendered certain colors (Velvia vs Kodachrome, for example, did you want vivid greens or vivid reds?)...it's no different with digital just more control
