Woke up to single digit temps, 6*F, and headed outside for some frozen bubble photography.
May have been too cold - the bubbles were freezing faster than I could focus my adapted Tamron 90mm macro lens. The Oly E-M10 handled the cold quite well.

Since that last frozen bubble shoot in 2017, I haven't been able to duplicate the results because my bubbles keep breaking on contact with the snow. Today, 12*F outside, sunny, mild wind ... perfect conditions. I think I'll have to try some other bubble formulas.

Thanks to all for looking and the nice comments. Here in my neck of the woods, you can count on snow and cold weather and have to learn to embrace the winter season. But, I'm ready for some birds/bugs/flowers now.

Back at it again ... Yesterday’s single digits (F*) gave me opportunity to shoot some frozen bubbles. May have been a bit too cold though. The soap bubbles were freezing in seconds. That made it tough blowing the bubble and trying to shoot it before it froze solid. Last pic is the skin from a burst bubble.

Strange winter this year. Despite getting over 100 in. of snow this season I haven't gotten many good days for snowflake photography because most of the snow came in two blizzards and it's been unseasonably warm so far. This morning was 1*F with almost no wind - perfect conditions for frozen bubbles. My Oly 60mm lens was searching for auto focus too much today and not giving me enough time to shoot before the bubbles either totally froze or burst. I find that lens to be a finicky performer. So I swapped over to the Oly 12-50mm lens and set it to macro function. Worked like a charm.
