… on a flower, a print of a flower, for background while she sleeps.

A Blue Banded Bee from the same bee hotel where the Neon Cuckoo Bee of my last post, Neon Bandit, lays her eggs. How they roost outside the nest at night.

She’s asleep at night which allows me to set the background, somewhat. For the contrast necessary to appreciate it.

She's showing signs of awareness, antenna moving. But unlikely to take to the wing in the dark, unless disturbed enough with light to see by.

While she's asleep, and undisturbed, I can set the background for better contrast. And who doesn't like some colour.

If she does wake up, it has happened, I have a jar ready to catch her again, to give her a better chance of making it to morning.

I haven't lost one yet, and the season has just begun again. Though not sure I'll find any where I am now.

And just a reminder, this is the Neon Cuckoo Bee again.

Used a reflector to get some light under her.

Is this taken with the 60mm macro?
Yes, on the Pany G5 and G6 with either the Raynox 150 or 250. Setup pix here, search the page for diffuser - https://beingmark.com/macro-illustrated/ - should get you near enough my current and past setups. Or have a look here - https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/780820 - an interesting thread on setups going back a ways.

Very nice, appreciated.
Thanks RFL, appreciated. :)
