Hey all,
I have Been extensively testing the different setting to work best with bif on my Olympus Em1x, Em1.3 and Em1.2 along with 300 f/4 pro with/without1.4tc.
Sharing you some shots ... Still the study is going on its summer and damn hot with tons of heat haze and all migrants have gone from our location.
These images were shot during march april....
Exif is intact may visible to pro members only though.
Goal is to get sharp lock images with less out frames in Lburst and it seems its getting better if not best due to some limitation are there in all bodies for its c-af performance over its processor.
Quite happy overall performance.

These are a testament to your skill as a photographer and knowledge of the birds you are capturing. I think you could do this with any modern camera/lens combo.
Thanks a lot for the kind gesture I really appreciate... Have been working on doccumenting the points i am noting down since bif is my prime interest and i really wish we had beeter C-af hold on Olympus gears but nonetheless trying to figure what we already have to work with.
PDF is in progress and shall soon push it over here in case anyone interested to go through it. Wish i had started this so earlier in the migrant season.

Fantastic effort and results!
Like one of the science-based shows used to mention - the difference between fooling around and science is making notes :D

Amazing, only tried BIF with my EM1.iii a couple times and it was surprisingly easy/accurate. I'm looking to get more critical focus on head/eyes... interested in what settings you use. Though as I've learned it's mostly the camera operator...

Yes.. indeed and I am not sure if you would be able to fine tune the eye lock during bif. I am worried that the evf would be the best challenging situation for not seeing the eye or head to keep lock on steady.

I just skimmed the PDF and it looks really good. I am shooting later and there are a few things in the guide I want to try out. Overall it is pretty similar to the settings I use. My only feedback is maybe add Frame Rate: High on custom menu D2 for high FPS on the EVF (though I think this is on by default so maybe not a big deal)

Finally we have finished the document and compiled the pdf for the BIF settings. Link is below :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17PER3eRmdw9O2xIeE4GeJoyAfErLJ8kQ/view?usp=sharing

Feel free to download and share if found useful as resource..

A considerable amount of effort has been expended in assembling this pdf guide. Thank you very much.

I don't have a 300 f4 but I've got the 100-400. I've read through the guide a couple of times and I will admit, some of those settings have never moved from default on my cameras. I hardly ever used C-AF so I'd be really interested to see if I get an improvement in my keepers. If it's nice weather in the morning, I'll know by the afternoon :)

Really great captures. One of the best BIF series I have seen. Your skill level is apparent! I'm looking forward to finishing your google drive posting.
