Wessex Solstice, BG38 & Bessell-U filters by the dying light of the longest day.
Some shots handheld; some shots cheating with tripod.
Ultraviolet and visible light, a bit too breezy for UV. But I can't control the weather, so had a go any way.

Nice one. The Bessel-U is from an astro filter set?

Cheers, Klaus. It was a random/fluke find, from ebay, just the one filter.

I know that filter and many other astro related UV transmitting filters, just haven't seen many flowers shot with them ;-)
Most have leakage issues anyway...I tried of few.

The only commercial UV filter I have, at the moment, so may as well bung-some-up. Schott BG38, BG39 or BG40, will all rid Bessell-U of it's small IR leak.

    The BG40 will do best.

Yep. Highest UV transmission and best IR blocking combined.

Commonly available, not so prone to rust. I'd be an S8612-man, otherwise.

Never had a deteriorated one, except some very old glass samples I once got which may have been stored not dry.

How long have you had your oldest BG40, roughly speaking, that you bought new?

That's very good going, it's a Schott BG10-years-at-least. If well cared for, that is ;'¬)
