I have just taken a risk at what seems to be my usual bargain price of £5 and gotten a Bell and Howell 135mm f2.8 with intergral hood!

It says, as I suspected it would, that it is made in Japan and as I already have a Pentax 'K' adapter for the odd lens, it won't cost me any more.

What can anybody tell me about these lenses sold under licence as B&H?

Who in Japan made them? Are the as good as most other medium budget lenses or is this one just a door-stopper that just cost me £5?

Could be that it is at least as good as the old Canon FL fit Hanimex one, just lighter and smaller, and therefore set to replace it in my bag!

The short telephoto lens was simple to make, and all were good, which is why for the most part, you see them going for pennies these days. Google searching indicates that this lens is likely made by Osawa. Congrats on your purchase, it makes a wonderful medium telephoto on our cameras!
