Really awful time for bugs - coming out of the driest summer since 1919 here - but have found a few every now and then. Some teddy bear bees have returned night after night around the yard which has been nice.

Slashing in the abandoned fields where all several different kinds of native bees had been set up since last winter, seems to be too regularly cut down now for any to set up there anymore. Nomia and orange tail bees huddling together after the first big tear down -

Very large teddy bear bee, by far the biggest bee I've seen around here.

Another lucky catch of co-habiting bees, this was quite a large blue banded bee but it's still significantly smaller.
