Continuing to modify my C1 mode as I try new things at the track. This weekend was focus tracking. This series was made with the camera in medium burst mode, I started out using high but was getting way more shots than needed. Results have been consistent at both ends of the track, speed doesn't seem to bother it. Had a good series of a Funny Car at around 200 mph that yielded all but one or two keepers.

Once tracking gets going it wants something to track, so reframing the shot when the subject is setting still can put the box on somewhere you don't want it. A push on the joystick resets it to center. I got so used to doing it was automatic. I suspect this may be problematic in low light conditions.

These are the camera's jpegs.

Try at the other end, when it’s doing 200mph. :)
But seriously, that’s cool man, being satisfied with ya cam. Like it!
