For years I've been thinking it was a genuine, serious bank every time I walked by, until today. This is actually a part of the very most famous sight in our city, where used to be a real bank over half a century ago, now a museum. I'll skip the common museum collection stuff in this post, just to show you.... this.

Sorry I didn't take the front gate photo, I most usually don't.

It's actually a beautiful great hall when you first enter it, this photo is showing one side of the hall.

For a good minute I couldn't believe or tell what I was seeing, real people? At least there should be some, right?

But I have to admit they look pretty much alive, so instead of looking for real people, I started to enjoy staging my drama.

It was a challenge matching the "skin" tones during post without either proper lighting or skins.

That's pretty much it. I thought about converting to B&W for a vintage flavour and more important to "solve" the white balance issue, but that would've wasted a lot of fun. Thanks for watching, I'll post some other photos from today's trip.

I really like this set, and don't think the white balance needs to be "solved" at all. My favorite is the last.

It was a part of the history site in memory of a man on horseback during the years China was at stake, the man owned that bank; the photos below are of his family properties.

those sculptures are pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing!

edit: the one jarring thing in the whole exhibit seems to be the glasses. Every one of the mannequins wearing glasses has them positioned horribly, like they're in the process of falling off their face. Maybe that's just how people wore them 100 years ago. :)

    A very nice set, that.
For what it is worth, I tend to agree with Mellow, cant see any reason to tweak on the WB on the bank ones, for me at least, they possess a certain flair and ambience very fitting for the subjects. :)

Thanks Jens, I believe it's better now after adjusting WB on each of the bank photos than camera's auto WB. People keep saying things about Oly colours and Sony sensors but with a test against my G6 I've found that after careful tweaking, results can be quite close that I couldn't tell them apart, but out of the box JPGs are usually so different that I almost can't trust either one. So it has kinda become a habit for me to "correct" things that possibly don't need correcting that much. Anyway, I think I'm still in the process of doing stupid testings on photos and hope that they turn out to be meaningful some way, I love that you guys find it interesting.:laugh1:

I would say the light sources in that place are a nightmare of auto-WB, maybe there isn't any camera that would nail it.
