The lens has no equivalent. I mean, I'd take a 25/1.4 or 45/1.8 over this lens, but the FL is different. I can't keep the lens off my camera. I wish they made a more aesthetically pleasing metal version! Ah well. Super sharp at f4 and nearly as sharp at f2.8.

I also have a Vivitar 28/2. Just got it. This will be a clash of the titans for sure once I start the showdown! The only other lens I know of in that FL (and affordable price range) is the Pentax K (must be K) 3.5. That lens, according to what I've read, is very good. I doubt it will beat a modern lens though--I actually doubt the Vivitar will beat it at anything other than the obvious built quality and faster aperture.

I think you'll find that few legacy lenses are going to be able to compete in terms of sharpness (especially wide open) at this focal length. The Sigma lenses really are wonders; I wish they would put out a native telephoto (150mm f4 perhaps) or a constant aperture zoom!

Thanks pdk42! Glad I could cheer you up!!! :)

tjdean01, I'm wondering what I'll do when and if Oly comes out with their rumored 25/1.8 pancake lens. Unless it's cheap, which I doubt, I think I'll just stick with the Sigma for a while. I really have learned to enjoy the slightly longer normal length.

Even though I already have the Oly 45, I am still on the fence considering adding the Sigma 60... I wouldn't mind a 100/2.8 and a 200/4 from them! :)

All this talk of 25s, 28s, and 30s and "coming out." I would really, really like to see that Sakar Kodak 25/0.95 hit the shelves!
