    Occasionally bigger isn’t better.

The pairing of largeformat 4x5 inch studio camera with MFT produced unexpected results that effectively became a macro lens. The field of view of less than one foot square. It focuses approximately 4.5 ft. (1.4 m). The depth of field is substantial and velvety bokeh. The crop factor is 8.

The lens was manufactured for use in a XEROX photo copier. It a beautiful piece of glass!

Calumet 4x5 inch studio camera, Nikon 35mm adapter, Nikon to Micro 4/3
    full.

    Bausch and Lomb 8 1/4 in (210mm) f/4.5-f/8 1:1
    full.

All are f/4.5 except the last which is f/8

I bet the AF tracking is terrible.

There is a computer tech writer and reviewer who has the motto: "I do these things so you don't have to." I'm glad I can read about people doing things like this, and I'm glad I am not one of them! :)

Ps. with a focal reducer I bet you could get that crop factor down to 5 or 6!

I dunno, if you shifted that across the entire field (essentially using it as a scanning back) I think it may give better results.

    :)

Glad to be of service! But I'm progressing in the other direction. Tomorrow brings the 8x10 and its step down to 4x5 adapter.

That I like. Hmm. Wonder if I still have the rest of the XEROX parts. At least the coin receptacle.
