I went to the Balloon Fiesta on Wednesday morning. I was interested to try my hand at getting some crowd shots. Its an interesting event in that almost everyone has a camera (or ipad or cell phone) so its comparatively easy to grab unobtrusive candids.

I've been shooting b&w for a long long time and even in such a colorful event, I still find it satisfying to convert to grayscale. I don't think I throw too much away by loosing the color!

Here are several that I think worked the best.

Interesting idea to shoot B&W for what has to be the most colorful photo opportunity. Of coarse your subjects seem to be the people and not the ballons.
