Was trying to set up back button focus on my MK II. I go to the gear icon, Select A3, then S-AF and then mode 3. I click OK and when I do and get back to AEL-AFL I still have S3/C2/M1. I tried the other modes and still stays on M1. Anybody have any ideas? I have the latest update on the camera.

Thanks,

Dumbfounded

S3/C2/M1 means:
  • S-AF is in mode 3
  • C-AF is in mode 2
  • MF is in mode 1
So if you return to shooting and hit the OK button and select S-AF as your focus mode you should find the camera won’t focus on shutter half-press but will if the AEL/AFL button is pressed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I though M1 meant mode 1. I tried it and it works.

Also without realizing it I had the lens on manual focus.

Yipee.
