For my 63d birthday, today, the day of Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery," we went to the "DEW Animal Kingdom and Sanctuary" in Mt. Vernon to hang out with three baby tigers. Their website is dewanimalkingdom.com, and it's worth a look as it's really not what you might expect.

In any event, here are some baby tiger photos from earlier today. Each was taken with a GH4 (1st outing) and the Nocticron, set on f 1.2 as the room was very dark and flash would disturb the cubs. I used manual focus for most, and a couple of eyes are slightly off, but it was a blast and the camera worked great. I didn't take a look until I got home tonight and, all in all, I'm really pleased. Minimal processing (silver efex on a few, levels).

    Thanks to all for looking.

The last photo reminds me of the beast in Cocteau's 1946 "La Belle et La Bete."
