From another thread, I picked up the advise (if I recall correctly, it was from Gary) to stick to one lens and learn how to shoot with that FL. Here is my attempt at Street Candid shooting with the Oly 45mm.

    Harsh Critics are welcomed.

I didn't want to create another separate thread but they are too many to put in the B&W thread.

    Love that record shot!!

I personally would like some of these images a bit more if there were less BG blur. This obviously doesnt apply to every image and regardless they are all very nice.

Nice shots, I really like #3 and #4. I love the Oly 45 for street shooting.

thelaxong... you've done a fine job with capturing very interesting street candids with the 45. While it's not the most commonly selected lens for street use, you've shown that the focal length can be used quite successfully for such image making! You got "busted" a few times by your subjects, but that's all good and largely to be expected! Great job.

Many thanks Reverend. This was one of the lens I used the least hence I force it onto myself to learn to use that FL in street shooting. It probably take time to get use to.

Thanks for the feedback and for bump up my thread :)  After a week I thought it would be lost in the mass of threads created everyday.

I am shooting in raw and processed in LR+NIK Silver Efek Pro. Have not try in-camera Monochrome as yet.

I quite love your style of shooting. Do you shoot jpg and let the camera process the images?

Many thanks for your feedback. I will try to use various settings next time out shooting and will play around more with DOF.

Melbourne winter is sometime dull and cold. A lot of time I had to shoot wide open to get some decent shoots otherwise there are too much motion blur.

Thanks. Yeah, Once you get use to the focal length I think the 45mm is lovely for street shooting. Not too obtrusive! OMD+45mm is only a little bigger than a P&S and much smaller than DSLR and is not so intimidating pointing the combo at peoples :)

Many thanks for your feedback. This was the second time I was out on the street shooting with the 45mm. The first time I didn't get much keeper as I was always too close to frame the shoot. (previously I used 14mm and the 12-35mm for street shooting).

I will probably stick with the 45mm for a while to learn how to get the best out of it. I got 'busted' and approached many times by my subjects but I always have a big smile ready for the peoples so I got away from a lot of 'sticky' situations.

My motto is "Kind words cost nothing" so "always smile and have a compliment ready" :)
