if this were silver, I'd buy it and be done with it, haha. But I'm stubborn and holding out =P

What happens to the rebates if the flash is backordered, and therefore, can't be purchased at the same time as the camera??

Adorama also has the 14-42 kit in stock now. But no flash either.

Adorama SAYS it's in stock, but when you put it in your cart it says "we're out temporarily". :(

No kidding, especially since it STILL doesn't say "out of stock" on the product's page.

My guess would be most either ordered the body-only (and are still waiting!) or went with the 12-50mm kit seeing the value in getting the weather-sealed lens at a more reasonable price (as opposed to the stand-along $499 price). There are so many 14-42mm kit lenses already out there, couple that with the fact that many buyers (especially first adopters) are likely to be current m4/3 owners who already have at least one kit lens and I doubt there was much pre-order of the 14-42mm kit, hence its availability. I'd also bet the 14-42mm kits are now being snatched up with multitudes of body-only orders cancelled (at least a $100 kit lens isn't a big burden to resell, and would get most of your money back!).

Rats, I should have just sucked it up, and ordered the black one w/ the 14-42.

Armanius, that's what I did. Will be getting mine Thursday.

Knowing my luck, body kits will be shipping Friday

I'll just consider the extra $100 for the 14-42kit an early adopter's fee.

LOL! $100 isn't too bad. You are helping Oly get rid of all their 14-42 overstock from all the Pen kits they overproduced! Actually, I don't even have a standard m4/3 zoom nowadays. So getting a 14-42 wouldn't have been bad at all. It's just that I wanted silver. :(

Ah... yeah that's the rub. They can't paint/anodize those puppies fast enough it seems! Lucky for me I prefer the black.

Well, don't forget.. if you absolutely, positutely have to have a black body. They are available on eBay for approx. $1300. I for one didn't want to pay the premium.

In my younger days, like a month ago, I'd have paid the premium. But I've matured since. :)

    Now what's that link? ;)
