Well this is not an autumn still life, but rather a Corona virus spring confinement one. When one is pondering on what to do, other than dusting off and whitewashing the walls...

What a shame it’s over dark!
Not to me. The low key concept makes you look harder in the way that whispering focuses the attention on how the light is made play with the subject. The best example of superior use of minimal light in still life must be Willem Kalf, who made it his specialty.

I only take photos since Christmas 2017, until the corona virus confinement usually limited to f/5.6, giving me the depth of field needed for the rural architecture of my home region. Right now, I am trying my hand at photographing the old stuff I have accumulated at my place. Here, at smaller distances, the DOF is more critical, imposing stopping down to f/8.0. The Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7 is the ideal tool here, not loosing its sharpness stopped down, and giving the right kind of perspective, not unnaturally foreshortening the objects. All these shots are taken with the light at hand, no studio setup.
