Love this. It has that toy/miniature, tilt shifty feel. How was this done?..If you don't mind me asking?

It was pretty simple. I set the camera up on a tripod about 30 feet away from the two trees in the foreground, focusing in on them as sharply as I could. The trees in the background were blurred because I set the lens at f2. I really like the bokeh effect that I get with my legacy lens (I've been accumulating a small collection of lenses that are f2 or wider). I then took three shots bracketed at -1, 0, +1 and processed them using Photomatix Pro to create a bunch of HDR images at different settings. The one I posted was the one I liked the best.

I've just gone back through these photographs admiring not the fall leaves, but the fall weather conditions. Fall produces some of the most glorious weather conditions, cloud formations, and sunsets of any season of the year. Ok, I admit to being a bit of a weather nut - I own a weather station registered with NOAA's MADIS system and I watch the weather...it's my other hobby. Anyway, I encourage you to revisit these photos and enjoy the stormy skies, frost, clouds and sunshine. You can almost taste the crisp, fall air. Thank you to everyone for posting such wonderful photos!

some tree autumn colours from the Stuttgart area last weekend. These ones were all taken specifically for the quality of the light at the time rather than any particular compositional interest and I'm glad to see that my G1 has captured more or less exactly what I saw/felt each time without any need for white balance correction or any other post processing.

The drought here left everything mostly dead, so Autumn has really only been about a week long. When it finally rained it was windy too and that blew most of the leaves off the trees. I'm trying to cope by exploring other views like this one.

It's not exactly autumn here in Lapland because its freezing cold and some 30 cm of snow outside, but here are some photos taken in September.

Aftermath of an autumn gale

Not the autumn tints that most of the posts on here have beautifully shown, but the effects of an autumn gale on the coast with the remains of large waves crashing onto Mattiscombe Sands a few miles from where I live photographed late on a November afternoon with the sun sinking in the west.

The autumn colors are starting to wane here a bit in central Virginia. Luckily I work on a nice wooded campus and enjoy a window. Not a great view but not bad either.

The early morning sun catching the trees on the far side of the parking lot. This was shoot through the window (which needed cleaning).

After I took the picture I realized the fountain was not on in the pond - a rare occurrence and ran out to get this shot. Unfortunately many leaves have fallen by this point:

And the early sun was bathing this tree with some early morning golden light that brought out the color.

In the other direction sits the factory I am not allowed to photograph.

Not the best picture, but maybe something a little different.

Autumn atmosphere in NL

I first put this picture in the E-PL1 thread..but maybe it makes more sense to have it here.

Nearby the "Oude Kerk" in Delft this weekend.

Here's one from yesterday, taken with the G1 and Micro-Nikkor 55mm. I used to not find much use for short telephotos, but this lens has been great for fall color in town. For some reason I have more focus errors with this lens than with others, but I'm working on it.
