And a few interesting orange berries that popped out of something that looks like lavender beech nut shells.

Here are my contributions to the thread... a bit off the theme, but still in the spirit of the season.

I'm in the DC area on business, but met up with a friend who lives in Maryland yesterday for a drive in his '73 Triumph TR-6.

This last one was taken with my new Lensbaby Composer, it will take some practice but so far I really like it.

I'm not trying to disturb the beautiful mood here, but this is a typical fall day snapshot out here, taken yesterday...

It's been too dry for great autumn photos. This is the first shot I've gotten that looks autumnal. G1 - Oly 9-18 w/mmf-2

Storms blew most of the leaves off the trees here this fall. This one is from last fall, taken at Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia with a point and shoot.

A big thanks to my Belgium neighbour for starting this thread. Just got back from Denmark. South -West of Fünen displayed some marvellous Autumn colours. It gave me a good opportunity to take the E-PL1 on a good test-drive.

Less of the humble Pierre, number 3 has to be my favourite with that shaft of sunlight illuminating just part of the scene.

Barrie
Thanks Barrie,
Ok, I take out the humble part  and replace it by "pure luck"....this light remaind there for less than a minute and I was quite lucky to be there with the E-PL1 in hands. The cam did it all.

The leaves have pretty much gone but the tracery of the tree limbs is interesting.

A pano. Difficult to get because the light changed so rapidly. Sometimes only 30 sec or so when the sun broke through the holes in the storm clouds and lit the trees against the dark storm clouds. I had to wait a considerable time and take multiple sets of images to get a good one.

This is a serendipity shot. I was at this location to take shots of a winery, an ongoing project where I shoot the same scene in different light and at different times of the year. I had never even noticed this scene before, but on that day the sun lit it so wonderfully I had to take some shots. It is funny how you can return to a familiar location many times and never notice interesting photo opportunities.
