A juvenile chimpanzee at Monarto Safari Park.

Taken in the short window while eating breakfast, before deciding to start causing mischief.

Super shot, Andy. The detail is exquisite. Was that through glass?

Thanks John

I was lucky enough that on the day I went, the keepers were in the middle of cleaning out their "inside" enclosure. So all of them (6 adult, 2 juv) happened to be outside at the time.

I managed to get in that little spot where you can peek through the netting, to get a clean shot.

Here are some older images from two visits at the small, local zoo of Dessau. Please mind most of them have been taken through more or less dense fences, while DXO Photolab's Clear View did a good or at least decent job clearing that haze, it also strengthened the overall image.

A snowy owl seems to be enjoying the sun while sitting in the gras.

This fierce little fella right here wasn't too happy about being groomed by mom!

Don't think I've been to the zoo with an m4/3 camera yet. Few out of my much loved Canon 550D. I really enjoyed the butterfly house surprisingly

I feel a bit sorry for these blokes all cooped up. Must get pretty boring.

Nice pictures Chris, you had better luck than I did yesterday at a local wildlife park. Several of the animals I was hoping to see kept themselves hidden or turned their back as soon as I lifted my camera, the Red Pandas in particular.

The red panda is one I’ve been waiting to get photos of, 3 other visits in the last few years and 3 no shows... I was made up when he showed his face on Monday!

Some from the local open range. Must go back, it's been quite a few years, & apparently things have changed a bit.

Due to medical problems, I'm pretty much house bound. But on July 5th, I was able to go to the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts. I caught this cougar sunning him/herself.

Also I caught one of the zookeepers with a Barn owl beginning a presentation.
