I had no idea he was still alive.
The Man Who Saw America
NYTimes article about Robert Frank.
I'm amazed that there is someone else here that reads photography articles.
Quote from the article: "In his pocket he carried an Olympus camera."
Robert Frank is the most important living photographer in America, and that's your take away from the article? Another example of this site being a Boyz with Toyz camera gear forum, having virtually nothing to do with photography.
Great article. I didn't know he is alive also or where he's from...
Who shat in your cereal...?
Yeah, what gives? The man posts an interesting article about a legendary photographer, and you immediately swoop down with the snide remarks.
Ouch ... really not necessary at all ... chill out time I would suggest ...
Definitely an interesting read, puts his life into a perspective and context I was not familiar with.
I happened to have bought 'The Americans' from Amazon 2 weeks ago.
Now, when I started reading this article, I thought Well, here is another world famous highly acclaimed photographer, I had never heart of. The name didn't ring a bell.
Only after reading into this article, I found that this is THE MAN.
Very nice reading by the way and thank you for sharing.
2-hour-long documentary by PBS about the life and work of photographer Dorothea Lange, who created the iconic Migrant Mother photo back in 1936 during the Great Depression.
