I was impressed by the Cintagon 35mm and it was just a matter of time that I would get the 100mm as well. Luckily there are still some very good samples on the market, often in pristine conditions.
Adapting the lens is not a straight forward off-the-shelf factory adapter; I had to make my own.
This time I used the base of a "faulty" (too short) Fotga M39 to Micro 4/3, removed the rotating ring (silver) and created an extension from a M42 macro rings. The total spacing I needed was 21mm precisely. The M42 tube sits perfectly inside the Fotga adapter and the grub screws allow for roatation of the lens. The other end was epoxy glued (JB Weld) to the back of the lens.
The lens almost looks like a native one.

I find it very compact, smooth to operate (unlike some Russki glass!) and well, the looks are just killer :)
Performance is a bit soft and a tad glowy at wide open f3.5 but becomes immediately better at f4 to then be tack sharp at f5.6. What it excels at is the bokeh with nice bubbly balls on the highlight. Pretty creamy OOF areas, unlike some modern zooms I have.

First test images, out of the camera, no editing

not wanting to discard the lens case of the Cintagon 100mm (since as lens case leather is really a bad idea in a humid climate :hmmm:) I repurpose it as beer cooler.
Yep, no guessing which is my beer anymore

I presume that the M.Zuiko 40-150R could have given me a slightly sharper image but somehow I still like to futz with that shiny vintage lens instead
However I can't think of any other more compact and lighter vintage lens in this focal length.
