Very clean, magnificent composition, specially with the repeating arch patters. Brillian t photographs, F1L1P.

Great shot

Lucky Penguin I am really struck by the lighting in this image. The soft light on the stone really brings out the color, and it contrasts in a great way with the hint of sky in the upper right corner. Was this shot at dusk or day break? Well-composed, well-lit.

Zach - amazing detail on these photos, specially the cathedral interior. Were these shot with a long exposure?

A Different Take on Philly

Goodness, I have about a zillion. Here are just a few in B&W - two that have appeared elsewhere on the site, and one older shot that I just discovered and processed.

-Ray

Philly City Hall

Looking the opposite direction from virtually the same spot:

This one is a recent find (shot in July) but just processed:
DeGaulle Airport:

Ray I go to Philly frequently for business and have seen these sights so many times, but the point-of-view in your photos made me see them in a very different and fresh way, specially the shot of City Hall. Great stuff!

Thanks, penfan. The shot was actually taken at 9:00am in the morning and was quite bright. The sun was on the other side of the church which the exposure difference between it and the sky is so high. All I've done is use the pinhole filter on my E-P1 to create the vignetting and tweaked some levels. Lens was a ZD 9-18mm @9mm. Out-of-camera image below.

Does this count as architecture? It's soon to be an architectural piece albeit a rather common one.
