Labor day Monday was our opportunity to do our family outing. As I just saw a friend posting some pictures on her facebook page, I knew I have to visit this place.

This place is at the end of the Bear Valley Trail at the Point Reyes National seashore located about an hour north of San Francisco in Marin County. One thing she didn't tell us is that you have to walk a little more than 4 miles to get there. Once you get to the end of the trail...

Nothing like a four mile hike to let you get pictures of a beach that is not jammed full of people.

Indeed and at many points my kids just wanted to return and go back too...even for them they said it was worth the effort.

Hahaha... very true. My wife and I have done several hiking trips in the Rockies and the best method for getting the place to yourself is only pick trails labeled "moderate" or "difficult"

Arch Rock looks really neat (oddly enough, this is the second set of photos I've seen posted of it on m4/3 today). Next time I get out that way I'll have to make a side trip!
