It looks like these new bigger C-Mount lenses are starting to pop up on ebay... I bought the 25mm, 35mm & 50mm lenses. This thread is just for the 25mm f1.4. (Following Forum Rules)

Here is what found out about this lens when buying it off eBay...

    Features:
    Mount: C mount (diameter 1")
    Focal length: 25mm
    Aperture: F1.4-16
    Elements/group: 6/4
    Angle of view(AOV): 57.4°
    Aperture blades: 6
    Minimum focus distance: 300mm
    Front thread diameter: 46mm
    Length: 37.5mm
    Front part diameter: 49mm
    Rear part diameter: 39.5mm
    Focus & aperture: manual
    Color: black

Here is the lens mounted on my E-P5:

According to one eBay listing I found, even though the lens in marked f1.4, that actual aperture is closer to f2.5...that's a BIG difference. Do you find that the 25mm at f1.4 meters significantly different wide open than the 35mm f1.6?

I haven't played with the 25 much. I will give it a try soon and report back.

    Great stuff.
I'm very curious about these lenses and hope you will showcase the other 2 lenses too
I would also appreciate some more comparative pictures (of the actual lenses) between these lenses and eg the 45. Just to see the size differences.

Edit: oh, my mistake. I thought this was the other thread. Good to see you're showcasing them all (assuming the 50 will come up soon too...)

I already got my 50, but we're getting rainy weather in LA. Waiting to shoot in my typical sunny LA lighting!

I had a few mins to waste at work so I took some shots of my Olympus XAs using the 25mm.

This kinda gives the bokeh Magic from this little lens. From what it looks like the ISO was around 2000 and shutter speed at 125. This is at wide open under office lighting conditions... AWB

My daughter decorated a Gingerbread Man today at school... So I thought it would be subject to test out the 3 CMounts (25, 35 & 50)...

Here are the shots from the 25mm... I had it wide open and shot it with my daughters EPM2

The 35 & 50mm images will be posted in their SHOWCASE threads... THanks

Hi there. Thanks for your contribution. I've seen these new larger C-mount lenses on eBay at 35mm and 50mm but not 25mm. If possible could you post a link to anyone selling a 25mm version. Many thanks. Matt

Thanks Matt... CMount glass is what got me excited about m43 from the very beginning... Here is the seller I used for all 3 of my lenses.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Covers-...09060516?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item3f431f3da4

I got the lenses between 7 - 10 days... Once it hit San Francisco, I had it the next day... (I am in SoCal, so other parts of the country time will vary)...

The 25mm doesn't seem to be a true 1.4... just so you know.. basic test I did other night showed slower shutter speed than the 35mm f1.6. When I stopped down the 35mm to match the shutter speed of the 25mm it was around f2.8/3.2 in that area.. the indicators only show 1.4, 2, 4, 8, 16...

Anyhow good luck and post some pics when you get it!

Thanks edwardconde. I also found an advert for the same lens being sold in the UK. It said it was great for portraits but not for landscapes. Could you tell us whether it focuses to infinity or whether the edges are soft. These are things that are sometimes found with cctv lenses would identify it as being poor for landscapes. Many thanks.

I found this link to a user review of the lens.
He didn't realise when writing that it doesn't transmit f1.4 light wide open but it has some sample images and other impressions.

I'm not sure I will buy this. I'm tempted by the small size, but not by the slowness.
Having recently bought a OM mount Miranda 24mm f2.8 I think I'll have a go with that for a while.

I just got some new Cmount adapters off ebay that work like a charm on these APS-C Sized lenses.. They allow for infinity focusing and the 35 & 50 mm lenses seem to line up pretty good to see the markings.. the 25mm not so much.. The other thing too is that the adapters flush pretty well… So very excited to have these now… :)

I will post some pics when I get a free moment!!
