Two Issues that have me flummoxed, I don't know if this is a flaw in my procedure ,hardware incompatibility, or a 'design' feature. I have paid for and downloaded and installed the codecs file (There's $7 I'll never get back), I checked to see if they were unlocked and they appear so. I tried to import and edit an *.mpg4 file in Starter edition and there is NO sound at all. The exact same mpg4 plays sound in other applications, and when I convert it to a WMV, it (Starter Edition) plays sound from WMV just fine. Is there something I need to do beyond installing the codecs? I should think being able to use the sound embedded in the video should be a given. Image quality is fine (see #2, below) I'm trying to create some video documentation with "SnagIt" a product that does a video screen capture with audio. It allows me to save as an mpg4 file. It has the same audio problems as in #1 above, and will play audio as a WMV. However an additional problem occurs in that the converted WMV image quality is REALLY bad in the Starter Edition, but the converted wmv file plays and looks just fine in other applications. My PC system is configured as follows: HP 220-1180qd AIO desktop computer Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 2.80GHz 8.00 GB RAM 64 bit Windows OS NVIDIA GeForce GT520M video card - Driver updated 3 days ago. Audio Card - AVerMedia H323 MiniCard Hybrid ATSC - Windows says driver up to date. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? While it looks like a pretty nice little package (esp. for free), I can't see upgrading to the commercial version of this product at this point with these handicaps.
