I feel fine when OMD with 17mm 2.8, the lens perform much better on OMD than EP3(due to the sensor), I also think it perform a little better than my 9-18mm at the long end, it's a little slower and noise vs 17mm 1.8, but in smaller package, would you get the 17mm 1.8 if you already got the 17mm 2.8?

I do like using the 17mm 2.8 with my OM-D, the AF is noisy but is fast (faster than the P20 1.7), and I enjoy a lot the 35mm FOV

For now I won't trade it for the 17mm 1.8 because I think there is too much price difference between them, but if the 1.8 price drops I'll buy it, the extra stop and the faster and quieter AF is worthy although the 1.8 is bigger than the 2.8

I've been using my 17/2.8 with my EM5 with great results, but I need more light for my type of shooting. I've been torn about whether to sell my 17/2.8 now that I have the 1.8, but I just posted it for sale in the Marketplace here. When I want a very small package, I'll just use my 14/2.5 pancake, though focal length is quite different.

    Yeah I know, I have 12mm 2.0 and 45mm 1.8, sometimes it's not just about more light, it's the focal length, I really like the 17mm! :dance4:

I sold my black 17mm f2.8 in anticipation of ordering the 17mm f1.8 in black. (Now if I can only get one.)

I thought the f2.8 version was ok except for its speed, which is the only reason I'm switching out. And the manual focus ring is nice.
