So besides Unique Photo, who else has this lens in stock?
sanealcamera.com has stock, but there in Canada. I was there today and saw two sitting in the cabinet.
I just ordered the only 1 they had left.. $599.00 UPS.. not much shipping info etc but they sent me confirmation info.. we shall see what happens.. I am scared.. LOL but thanks for the info on the Camera Store in Calgary, Canada..
Doug - Boise, Idaho..
Darn. You are quick!!
No experience with these guys, but noticed they are showing as in stock:
Panasonic | 25mm f/1.4 Leica DG Summilux Aspherical Micro 4/3 Lens | HX025
H&B digital had one
Try H&B digital. They have treated me very well.
Samys is right down the street from where I live! Pretty much LA's version of B&H. I'll have to do a walk-in and check it out.
Glad to have been able to help you in your search. Hopefully it'll have thawed out by the time it reachs you down south.lol
Ehh ... Sammy's site says "call" to check on availability now.
Kudos to Unique Photo - I received my lens in 2 days with their free shipping (priority mail). Bad weather and not a lot of time today, but I did play a bit and got one wide open shot:
Pro Photo in Portland, OR had 15 last week.
Called today and was told by Jim that they don't carry them in stock.
Swung by Samys here in LA...they said they sold out yesterday in a matter of hours! Good time to shop for LA residents. It's Samys tax free weekend!
Jonathan, is samy's tax free offer every weekend? i bought a couple of stuffs there before. cheers.
I was quick, but they don't ship outside of Canada.. I was surprised. darn
Not every weekend, but it's good to remember...shop Samys only on the weekend!
Not every weekend, just a couple of times a year.
Saw info here about Samy's & I called that number, got a lady who said one was on it's way to Santa Ana, so I called and put a deposit down yesterday and picked it up today.
Thanks to people here for heads up on things. Wonderful forum,
I have no idea why Jim told you that, because I had one in my hand last Tuesday. Frankly, I did not buy it as they changed their terms on the deal since I originally ordered the lens. They also did have 15 in stock that day.
By the way, I dealt with Jim, whom i have known for over 20 years.
I am sorry you had that experience, but now you will know why I switched buying from Pro Photo and usually buy from B &H first and then fom Unique Photo. The latter two dealers are first class like Pro Photo used to be.
No sweat Tom. Maybe Jim was confused given that he had me repeat the lens description 3X before he said they don't carry that in stock. I'll just suck it up and hope that one of the big boys will eventually get their shipment.
Or maybe we will get a few more tips here on some secret shipments arriving at a not so well known local camera shop.
If you have not tried, you might get lucky at W.B. Hunt in Boston or at Roberts in Indianapolis. W.B. Hunt is a favorite U.S. dealer and friend of a few folks who work directly for Panasonic. I personally find them to be a royal pain, but they often have stock. Roberts is good if you can get a sales person who bothers. They are also a large dealer and theyoften have stock when others do not.
Happy scavenger hunt,
