Anyone have any idea on the quality of refurbished olympus lenses. particularily the 14-150?
I don't have a refurbed 14-150, but I picked up a refurbed 9-18mm several months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Some photos with it here:
Got a refurb 40-150; flawless. Also a refurb E-PL2 with kit lens; indistinguishable from new. I consider refurb to be close to a safe bet as you can get without buying new.
I also got a refurb 40-150, from Cameta. Also flawless. Would not hesitate to buy refurb again.
I got a 12/2 refurbished from Cameta. Perfect condition.
The only annoying thing about it is that Olympus uses the same size box for pretty much every refurbished product. For the 12/2 they just put it in a bubble wrap bag and then put it in a giant box (which Cameta then carefully packaged). So the little lens ends up bouncing around inside the giant box! Again, not Cameta's fault - this is the Olympus packaging. Still, lens arrived just fine.
I've purchased quite a few for my SLR - zero problems thus far.
Bought a 14-150mm from Cameta. I expected more padding in the box, but the lens was pretty much flawless and like new.
I wouldn't have any problems buying refurb lens again.
I've never had a problem with a refurb or a complaint.
