Seem like it wasn't that long ago that a panasonic 12-60 was released. I didn't look to closely at it, but it seemed to get average reviews.

Maybe they've decided to have another attempt at it, this time with the leica branding. Hopefully performance will be better but still a reasonable size. Will probably expect a premium for the leica tag.

I guess we are pretty spoilt for lens choice now in m43 land. Oly 12-50, pana 12-60, pana leica 12-60, up coming oly pro 12-100.

whoops might be a false alarm. The lens on the photo seems to be the normal pana 12-60 (non-leica)

Very cool three lens offering from PanaLeica. My wish has been granted (at least partial) with a faster 200mm – I will continue to wish for a 1.4x to make it completely perfect for me!

    I think it's almost overkill, but I shouldn't complain!

How can they expect us to choose from so many lenses:( I'm getting fed up with the whole system!

I'm thinking of moving to Samsung. There's a system I don't have to worry about growing out of control. Or maybe Sony. They're about due to start all over again aren't they?

I can't wait for 2-3 years down the road when I can afford all of these great lenses and bodies on the used market.

Quite a nice set of new Pana Leica zooms covering a huge range!

I am most interested in the 8-18mm that takes filters. Glad that it isn't overly fast. I would almost always stop down anyway so I want a wide angle to be optimized for f/4 - f/8. I wonder how well it will perform? Maybe this will become the new favorite landscape lens for people who like to be able to use filters.

it was rumored that Panasonic would "update" the 12-35 & 35-100, do people think that these are the update?

Can any of you photoshop pros make a size comparison with a known lens?

Looks like they might all be internal zooming.

Looks to me like the 12-60 and 50-200 extended when zooming... would be nice if some specs were released huh?

Really hard to tell off a single picture that lacks detail :/ I'm super interested in all of these either way.

Or it's just a mock-up promo version where all the bits and pieces aren't as they will be.

Well, well. I (and others, perhaps) have been waiting 7 years for this -- native micro-4/3 lenses that match the Olympus 4/3 12-60mm f/2.8-4 and 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5. That's not to say that we haven't had choices over the years, but not quite the same. Panny and Olympus "kit" lenses are generally very good, but they are slower, and don't really match the premium line for IQ. Pro lenses may be fantastic (e.g. 40-150 f/2.8), but they don't offer quite the range, and they're often very large.

I love my Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8; extending the range to 12-60mm would mean a lot fewer lens changes for me, however. The recently released Panasonic 12-60 f/3.5-5.6 just doesn't seem compelling enough -- yes, I get the extra range, but slower and (if initial impressions are to be believed), not quite the same league for IQ. I love my Panasonic 35-100 f/2.8. But it, too, doesn't have enough range. I tried the Panasonic 45-200mm f/4-5.6 in the early days. The range was perfect for me. But slow, and my copy was a disappointment, especially at the long end.

So, I'll keep my eye on these new lenses. I already know that their range and speed is attractive. For me, these designs seem to fall into the sweet spot. But I'll have to weigh the IQ (once there enough reports to form a consensus), size, weight and price against what I own.

Totally agree. I have the Panasonic 7-14 with a holder for Haida 100mm square filters but I'm getting fed up with the purple blob flare. I keep looking at the Olympus 7-14 but that's pretty big and expensive and on top of that I'll need to invest in another specialist filter holder.

This Panasonic 8-16 looks very interesting.
