    Hi, lovers of nature !

This morning, around the farm, I have seen the first gatherings of swallows preparing for migration to the south.
So I thought, let's make a thread for everyone to share his/her pictures of animals migration in general.
It could be birds, but also mammals or anything that migrates ...

I'll kick off with a few shots of the line-up of swallows this morning.
    Shot with OM-D and Micro-Nikkor 105/2.8

I'm looking forward to your input for this topic !

    Have a nice day,

Last year november, I made a weekend trip to 'Lac du Der' (France) where the cranes (Grus grus), gather to eat and rest before continuing their journey southwards.
We were lucky to find 50000+ of them, quite a spectacle !

Here's a view very early in the morning

Let us see your shots of animals in or preparing for migration !

Still at the Lac du Der, but later that day ...

FYI, these are shot with a GH2 and a Nikkor 300/2.8 + TC300 (2x) for a total focal length of 600mm, equaling a 1200mm lens field of view on the classic 35mm camera>

The nighthawks are migrating through this week, but as they only hunt at dusk, all I got were lots of outlines against a gray sky.

It's still just outlines against a gray sky, but the nighthawks were still here yesterday. This is their normal time to migrate through southwest Virginia, the last week in September.
