First post here (please be gentle!), so I hope this works...

Gentle? I don't think you need to worry. Looks great for a first post. The b&w conversion you did has great tonality. I personally would've liked to see a bit more of the dock on the right. Cheers!

    Renee welcome very good shot.
For the clouds to stand out you might want to increase the contrast.
You can do it for the whole picture or use graduate filter, it make wonder with sky.

Welcome Renee. It is indeed a very good first post.

However, I'll echo Mikey's comment about seeing more of the dock, plus 2 things: (a) for me there seems to be a bit too much sharpness/contrast (?); and (b) somehow the picture seems to me to be begging to go wider.

Thank you everyone for your welcomes and helpful feedback. Definitely agree it could be wider - I'm saving for the 12mm - 25mm is my widest lens at the moment. Is it just me or is black and white the hardest for getting the right balance of tonality, sharpness and contrast? Cheers!

:thiagree: But that makes it all the more fun and fulfilling, especially when you get the tonality/contrast right.
