    Excellent shot of a Barn Owl (Tyto alba), although I don't know which race that is, one of the most widely distributed bird species on the planet.

    Hi pdh, many thanks for that link, given the location of the zoo I would suggest it's more likely to be hellmayri or tuidara.
    There are 27 races outside of the western palearctic.

    I've inserted the name of the species on my flickr page. Thanks. I really like to photograph birds, but don't have much time to go out and do it. I even have a Field Book of the Birds from Brazil and found the Tyto alba there.
