My dad chucked steel @ Bethlehem Steel in St. Louis working his way thru school circa late '40's. By the time I worked with steel, at a drill pipe and casing yard in Houston circa early'80's, it was made in Japan.
The sad tale of U.S. manufacturing. A great series of photos, though.
These buildings are elegant and impressive in their size and simplicity.
