If anyone is interested in trying out a Sony E-mount camera, the other day Amazon Warehouse (and not a 3rd party seller) listed a Sony NEX-6 with 16-50 kit for $126 in 'Very Good' condition. I received the camera today and it looks spotless! While the going rate is hovering around $334, I'd keep an eye on the warehouse deals daily just in case another kit sells for cheap!

Here's a screen shot of my order:

It's not a bad camera, while it doesn't have the bells and whistles of some of the newer cameras, the kit lens is decent enough, the EVF is very good and the APS-C 16mp sensor is a solid performer. I'm still keeping my M43 kit, but I'm planning to use this more as an MF rig. The focus peaking is actually really good, even useable in lower light conditions.

One of my kids mentioned he might like a little DSLR. While this isn't what he was thinking exactly, for $126......

Keep an eye out for deals on Nikon system 1 cameras. BuyDig (Beach Camera) had a Nikon S1 with 11-27.5 zoom for $110 and J4 with 10-30mm lens for $249 about 2.5 weeks ago.

    Update: Nikon S1 with 11-27.5mm for $149

I think Amazon was running a special 40% off warehouse prices to get some of their returned merchandise moving.

I'm not so sure. They only had one body listed for $126 and the rest were in the $330+ range. I'm beginning to think somebody just inputed the price wrong and I just got lucky!

Plus at 40% the camera would of cost around $200, so this was a far deeper discount!

That's like buying the 16-50mm for a really good price, and getting a free NEX-6 body to go with it!

It's a good camera for sure. I think this was the first Sony body that did a lot of things right in terms of design, usability and features. Using both my E-M10 and NEX-6 side-by-side, I'd have to say they are both good in their own right and it'd be hard for me to pick one over the other.

I missed this too and I'm kind of glad. I'm already running a Pentax DSLR kit, a micro four-thirds kit and a Fujifilm X kit. I can't be messing with another system unless and until one of the systems I already have goes away. Or can I? :daz:

No one can be 'glad' for missing out on a $126 NEX-6 w/ lens. ;-)

At that price I'd "almost" be tempted to experiment with one....but then better judgement floods my cranium and I remembered all the reasons why I don't like SOny gear...then it all goes away....now, had they done that with say a Nikon Coolpix A or Ricoh GR - I could see me getting a little weak and hitting the buy button. :D

The A is now at $299, I am really tempted.

I would have no question, if nothing else I would have flipped it for $250 - $300.

I have the Ricoh GR already. But if I didn't, I'd jump on the Nikon A at that price.
