I think I want to return my camera to Amazon to get the E-PL3 with the 17mm F2.8 vs the regular kit lens. How are your experiences with Amazon vs B&H?

Beware the image quality of the 17mm f2.8 is no better than the kit lens, but it does make the camera more pocketable. Both Amazon & B&H have good return policies, though B&H is particularly steller in that regard.

When all else is equal, I always give the nod to the independently owned business. No one needs to keep Amazon in business.

When I bought my E-P3, I chose the 17 just because I already had the kit lens, courtesy of the earlier purchase of the E-PM1. I how that Oly will have a body-only option on future cameras, now that they've done that for the E-M5.

I haven't used the 17 much, as it nestles in between the 14 and 20, two arguably better lenses. But it is tiny..

????:confused::confused: Who told u sir that 17 mm 2.8 is not better than kit lens? No way . Its one of the most underrated MFT lens just because u have Panny20 mm 1.7 out there . I have used this lens extensively and its one of sharpest lenses.
    Cheers
Here is a shot with it ..

If you don't mind refurbished, Cameta has the E-PL3/17 kit for $480, a solid $120 than you'll pay at Amazon or B&H.

I've had great luck with refurbs; always a viable option for me.

Amazon is very easy with returns; so is B&H, though I think they limit you to 200 shutter actuations if you are returning a non-defective camera. My first choices are always B&H or Adorama.
