I see Amazon has some amazing prices for cameras and lenses from AkibaExpress in Japan. I presume these are "gray" goods. Is there any warranty from Olympus for people in the US for goods purchased this way?
I suppose this falls under the old adage.."If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

Oly has an international warranty. If you are buying through amazon, I wouldn't worry about it, they will cover you if you run into trouble. Did you look at the sellers feedback?

Yes, folks were pleased with the prices and how fast goods arrived from Japan. No mention of warranty.

The warranty is in fact the Olympus worldwide warranty and is honored through Olympus USA. I know this from email contact with Akiba and a phone call to Olympus.

Would that apply for Ebay purchases as well? There's some E-M1 & 12-40 deals that look mighty tempting...

Don't know about Ebay sellers although I know AkibaExpress does sell on there. My inquiries were on lenses only not sure how bodies are handled.
