For those who favor the 'classic' look of a leather bound cam, Aki-Asahi.com is almost ready to sell a skin for the E-P3. See their blog at é￾©è£½å“￾製作 店主激闘ブãƒ*ã‚°.

Here's what it will look like on the silver:

I've had this product on my E-P1 and E-P2. Really great quality - and only about $15 delivered! (No, I don't get paid...)

Looks like they're adding an optional piece for the button area:

Will the grip still fit over it?
Yes! It's a no brainer...if you like the look, you can put on any grip you want. Notice mounting hole in the side is open (lower left last picture). I think they have another pic on the site with the grip mounted over the skin. :2thumbs:

The English translation isn't clear, but here's a photo:

This should also make the camera easier to handle without a grip, as I think the camera would be rather slippery to hold otherwise. But it looks damn good with or without the grip. ;)

Looks awesome. I would buy one as well.although I think I would like real leather better and I would pay premium.

My last order was January. They sent a confirmation email saying they'd bill through Paypal within 24hours. If I read their website correctly they're off on Friday, back on Saturday - maybe some delay?

BTW, the E-P3 skins are now listed (black leatherette and cherry and walnut wood - not my taste...), but they seem to be apologizing for delays in checkout. Will be monitoring and report back!

Aki-asahi is now taking orders but I can't figure out how to pay.... In the past Paypal was an option, but they're using a new financial intermediary, My netshop. Anybody familiar with this???

I don't see it listed on their site at all. Did they take it down?

Edit: Now I see it, but it isn't listed on their English language page.

Ordering is just under pictures, but it seems that right now it's possible to send it only to Japan. So if you need international shipping you should try to write an email to them.

My Japanese is far from fluent. But as far as I can tell the shopping cart page is designed for domestic shipments.

I sent the following inquiry, and will let you know the response once I get it:

アメリカへの配送は可能ですか?
そして、海外への配送について、お支払いはどのような方法にできますか?

ありがとうございます

Do you also ship to America?
Also what payment method is available for overseas delivery?

Thank you very much

Right now is about 4:30AM Sunday, Tokyo time. So it may be a while
