    Boyzo if you are into macro , AF is next to useless look at The Tamron SP 90 or Minolta Rokkor 50 F3.5.

    In my opinion the result is good but not astonishing with your AF lens.

    Ilia, the PL45 can manually focused with precision for macro. On the other hand, the AF comes in handy when using the lens for non-macro purposes. It makes a great general-use telephoto.

    I didn't think about that, indeed AF can be useful for all around purpose. i am too much into manual lens to value the advantage of an AF lens, sorry if i criticized too much. I find that the colour rendition of the lens ( i have done similar shots ) with the SP and the rokkor ( will put them online later) seems a bit washed away as i said not bad but nothing stunning. Thanks anyway for this post it gives really good info about this lens.
