I've got some aftermarket battery for my OM-D that fit fine in the camera, but don't fit well in the grip. It's super snug as if they are slightly too large.

I've seen some mentions of sanding down the plastic casing slightly in a few different sites, but no specific mention where on the casing.

    Anyone have any specific instructions?

Haven't done it, but logic dictates you'd have to sand down the side opposite of that with the connections.

    I'd return the battery.

If you do start sanding, do it SLOWLY by hand. No belt sanders or dremels that will generate heat.

I would return them as well. I have two no-name batteries I got from eBay and my buddy has the Wasabi batteries (same batteries I'm sure). All of our batteries fit fine in the grip.

Concur; I've the Wasabi cells and they fit just fine.

There's a lot of variability in size with the 3rd party batteries. I had one that will barely fit in my OM-D (the regular compartment not the grip) and is almost impossible to get out. Returned it for a replacement that fits easily.

I have 3 aftermarket batteries that do fit too tightly in the grip.
My solution is to use the aftermarket batteries in the body, they go in/out well there, and have the grip with the original Oly battery.

    Problem solved ...

Agree. It's possible that it's just sloppy manufacturing of the case, but it's also possible that the cells inside are expanding. I would return them.

Mine DSTE battery works fine when used in camera directly after charging. On the other hand when it is in bag for longer time it runs out of power after week or two... All in all I use it as first battery and original Panasonic's as backup.
