Went out after work with OMD + Pany 100-300 just to grab a few photos.

Superb combo that really makes me smile.

    Thanks Jason,

I am still discovering the capability of the OMD and lenses I have with it - it produces incredible results and the 100-300 is a great lens to compliment it.

I've used my 100-300 and OM-D together a few times, do you use he lens ziS over the camera IBIS?

Ian, Lovely. Those are sufficient to make one cease working in favor of shooting.

Thanks all for the nice comments, I am still discovering the amazing flexibility of the OMD but just loving the IQ.

I spoke to a friend of mine who has the same combo and he recommended sticking with the OMD IBIS and turning off the OIS on the lens so that is what I have done.

I have not tried it the other way but suspect it would not be any better.

    Anyone tried alternatives?

From comments I have read elsewhere there may be a slight advantage in using the inbuilt OIS on this particular lens rather than the inbuilt IS
    Might be worth experimenting ?

I did some semi-scientific testing and found that to be the case. Also, even having turned off the lens's OIS, it seems that there is still a motor running. Whereas, if you turn off IBIS, it does seem to go quiet. So, I'm guessing that battery drain will be better with the len's IS on and IBIS off.
