Thanks to this thread getting bumped today, I took another look around to see if there was any availability. I came across an HGR-1 at Samy's Camera at US$49. While that was still more than what I'd like to pay, it's $20–30 cheaper than it was when I've seen in the past, so I decided to take a shot. I was kinda looking for black, but they only has silver. I think it will still look okay.

Good choice. Expensive but that's just the way that accessory goes, at least it isn't a Leica accessory. It does have great fit and finish, and will make your GM5 feel more rugged since the bottom plate is the only weak-feeling part of the camera. Now, invest in silver lenses to go with that grip! :biggrin:

Thanks for the suggestion. The camera actually came with a half case, but it doesn't really improve the handling much for me.

I'm still keeping my eyes out for a removable grip at a price that makes sense. Until then, the wrist strap helps with the feeling of security.
