Ok... I actually have the paperwork that came with the lens. Tamron 28-300 macro. Model 185D. Anything I’ve posted here recently was with this lens. This too.

Nice shot but this must be wide open (f/2) because bokeh balls get clear hexagonal shape immediately when Helios is stepped down. Then again, Helios 44 is a lens you'll never need to step down because the whole point of this lens is the swirly bokeh it deliveres wide open. Unfortuntely swirl proper forms only near the edges of full FF image circle which of course falls outside MFT sensor area.

Nicely done. I just watched a video about flipping the front lens yesterday and it made me want to buy the lens :). Guess I can try it with a few other lenses.
It was super easy to do on a Helios 44-2, and since I only paid $25 for the lens, I wasn't too concerned if I messed things up. I also have another Helios 44-2 in much nicer condition that I use as is.

Nice! I have that lens too.

Common Barberry (Biggus weedus) from along our front walk. Pentax K 100mm f4.0 Macro. The WB is more correct on the first one.

Good Afternoon,

After another surprise of 4 inches of snow on Thursday night, the streams, brooks and river got a bit more snow-melt water recharge. Taken with Canon FDn 24mm f2 (@ f5.6) and FDn 50mm f1.2L (@ f5.6) with Urth 6-stop ND filter up front.

Regards,

Edd

Good Afternoon,

A short kayak paddle while the sun was out. Used the Canon FDn 80-200mm f4 L series zoom for these, all hand-held, at f5.6. The Canada goose was at 200mm, the turtle line at 100mm; the IBIS helped a bit (was manually set to 150mm).

Regards,

Edd

Finally had a bit of a play with the Nikon Nikor 70-300 lens that I got along with the Tamron I've been posting with. I find the Tamron to be much more versatile on walk arounds being a 28 -300 so that's seen the most use. Being that I'm stuck at home for the week, I figured I'd play. Hardly the right tool for small backyard photography, but I'm pleased.

Edit/add. I was purposely shooting with the aperture wide open and zoomed in, hence the narrow DOF. Its been fun manually doing things.
