I thought I would have a bit of fun in the woods with one of my adapted lenses.

Dear Board,

I know it's just a squirrel, but he visited today for Thanksgiving Dinner. Taken with an OM-D-EM1, Fotodiox Canon FD to M4/3's adapter and a Canon 500mm f4.5 FD and Canon FD 1.4 converter. Using this set up is challenging and definitely a tripod only proposition, but I'm getting much better with manual focus so that's a good thing!

Regards,

Tim Murphy

After setting up some early Xmas decorations I finally had time to test what is the correct subject to background distance for 58mm f/2 Helios44 swirly bokeh.
Unfortunately FF sensor (which I don't have at the moment) is required for this because swirl proper is only visible beyond the crop sensor image circle but you can see it starting to form here.

Each bokeh ball is in reality a point light source (SMD led).

And here are samples from two other adapted lenses for bokeh comparison.

And of course my favourite: Olympus OM 50mm f/1.8

Now I can finally take that tall beer glass I used as a candle stand back to it's original use. Nice reflections, though. Something interesting is happening at the intersection of green and blue bokeh balls. It looks like wet paint is bleeding from one colour to another.

Taken with a focally-reduced Canon FD 28mm f2.8, which arrived this week and was sent back due to having dust and fungus. I at least made one photo, and did like the output.
