Some interesting stuff in the toybox Erik!

More seriously, did you make the adapter yourself?
Thanks Richard! Not this one.

The Primagon f:4.5/35 mm is straight up M42 mount. It came off of an Edixa Reflex S-L purchased by the original owner in A.D. 1963. Dated from the original warranty document.

But, if I win an auction for an Asahiflex II A, which finishes on Sunday, I will have to go for it again. (See attachment! Pic from auction site. I only added the frame.) The Asahi-Kogaku Takumar f:2.4/58 mm on that beautiful, sexy body has a non-standard 37 mm thread mount.

I was thinking of kludging it up to M42 via an ZM39 to M42 adapter ring. Kludge, on account of that I have a phobia against destroying, aka irreversibly modifying, any old camera/lens of mine.

It's another can of worms, entirely, if the antique is already destroyed when I get it, as was the case with my 1950 Franka Solida III with the Rodenstock Trinar f:2.9/80 mm. Or, if I have several examples of the thing to be modified.

It also happens to be my birthday on Sunday, so I'm prepared to go pretty high on this auction!

Shhh! Don't tell anyone! 🤫

Erik

EDIT: The barbarians are at the gate!
They are running up the price of my Asahiflex!
As of now (5 PM CET May 1st) it's up to over US$ 100 (equivalent in my currency). Piffle!
Question of the hour: Will sanity prevail?
Follow up question: Who's sanity was that, again?

EDIT2
: My Asahiflex II A has risen to US$ 115.94 at today's exchange rate. (7:20 PM CET May 2nd)
B*st*rds! I'm just glad that I like myself so much that I'm justifiably thinking that I'm worth such expensive gifts. And she's sexy as h*ll, too.
The justifiable gift, that is. 📷
And don't talk to me about sanity, please!
It's much like planting seeds on the barren rock.

EDIT3: Final update. My Asahiflex has gone up to US$ 138.50 at today's exchange rate. (11:15 AM CET May 3rd) 16 minutes to go on the auction. Getting ready to put down my bid in about 15 minutes time. No use showing your hand too early.
Fingers crossed!

EDIT4:
Final final update. Got my Asahiflex II A today (May 7th). Very very pleased!

The other day I treated myself to a cheap lens which, while probably not very convenient, is a lot of fun to play around with: a Tokina 400mm 6.3. Judging by the serial number it may have been made in 1975.

This was taken at F11 from a distance of 1130 meters according to Google Earth. This is straight out of camera.

Was trying out a modified kind of aperture disc, with three openings in it, yesterday. Only discernible difference is heavy vignetting in upper right corner. Which isn't that surprising when I think about it 🙄

A definite no go. Modified my modification into this:

A Tron Light Cycle!
Maybe I can get something useful out of this. Of course, this depends heavily on me putting my obviously very limited mental faculties to best use.

Oly pictures straight out of camera.
Only added frame and text in Snapseed.

Haha I know what you mean. There was a comedy stage play and movie many years ago called "Little Shop of Horrors" about a carnivorous plant.

The tulip has very striking colours, I wish I knew its name!
