    Hello friends,

I want to build my macro setup for my Olympus gear (using E-M1). My goal is to achieve extreme magnification (high resolution) of food; such as the seeds in a kiwi / fibers of banana / cells of lime, etc...

So, I'm searching for advice on the best setup to do this. My idea is to build a system with the Oly 60mm - but from here I'm not sure what are the best accessory components. I'm also not tied to the Oly 60mm, which I don't even own yet, I'm just under the impression that it'd be a good starting point. I've read about different lens accessories including extension tubes, converters and achromat filters. I'm also looking for good macro lighting accessories.

Basically I'm searching for high resolution magnification greater than 1:1, preferably 2:1. If you can advise on the best gear to achieve this, please share.

    Thank you!

You might want to consider if you're after macro or a microscope - particularly if you're after fibre/cell level imagery.

Otherwise, extension tubes, tripods, flash-rigs and diopters are worthwhile investments. You may want to experiment and build up your kit as you see what suits your style best.
