ACD Systems - Photo Editing Management Software

Thru 3/15 ACDSee products are up to 45% off and include a second license for free so you can run it on 2 computers. Only $54 for Pro or $82 for Ultimate, both of which would be a very good Lightroom Alternative. (Main difference is that Ultimate does Layers and Adjustment Layers)

I've been running Demo of ACDSee Pro and Lightroom, and I think I might go with ACDSee.

Interesting... What are you finding you like with ACDsee vs Lightroom?

I'd love to find a viable alternative to LR for a couple different reasons not really apropos to this thread.

Biggest thing is that it doesn't make me import my files into a catalog.

LIghtroom allows keeping the files in a directory structure. I forget the setting, but that's what I have mine. Perhaps you mean that you have to do all your moves and renames in LR?

The forced catalog tho is why I never took to Aperture, I'm too old fashioned and think in terms of file hierarchy.
