I finally came to the conclusion, after posting stuff to the "minimalism" thread that doesn't really belong there, that we need a counterpart to the Abstract Nature Photos thread... so here goes:

Great: thank you for starting a thread that might push me into looking outside the parks and gardens to find my abstract subjects
I hope it's popular with great ideas and executions and not necessarily just a bokeh fest :)

Well... sure... there are people with great ideas and executions around here... but in the meantime...

hold on a second: that's not just your average incomprehensible blur for the sake of it...
Well controlled bubbles to complement the subject shapes. Well done!

Ok, new rule, all images must consist of at least 10% non-bokeh by weight.

X-post from show Miksang - Finding Beauty in the Mundane

    e4038389.

I guess this is probably a better example (along with the "planet" above) than my initial posts for showing "abstract" in the general sense of being lifted out of enough mundane context to be seen in not-the-usual way...

Well, since starting the thread I haven't taken any relevant pictures (jinx!)... but I have a year-or-so's worth to browse through as I fall asleep...

on my bike ride into town I stopped by the river to test the bokeh of my newly refitted F.Zuiko 32mm f1.7 (from PEN EED). I was attracted by the bling ;)

    FTFY. :p

So many fun slices of shape and color around us all the time... you wouldn't want all those pictures to be homeless, would you? 10 months later, I don't even remember exactly what this one was... which means now I can see it exactly the way I wanted to...
