Rockpools at the head of a waterfall were easier for me to shoot than the actual falls!

While waiting for a line of thunderstorms to move in I set up my em10ii on a tripod and engaged live composite. I experimented with different exposures and light painted the trees in the foreground with a flashlight. It was very windy. All of the lightning seemed way off in the distance behind the tree line and the resulting images were netting nothing more than a muted dimly lit sky. No bolts. After about a half hour of waiting for the line of storms I called it quits as the wind picked up to the point of trying to blow the tripod over, which is a feat in itself since the tripod is a stout SLIK pro700dx.

Reviewing the images and not seeing anything that was exciting I started playing around with what I did manage to capture which was swaying tree branches in the wind. Some shadow lifting, combined with some heavy cropping and noise reduction later, I ended up with this, which probably will feel comfortable living in an abstract thread.
