I spent what will probably be my last long weekend of the year in the Lake District last weekend. Unfortunately, the weather didn't play ball with a lot of very heavy rain, so I was glad I got myself up and headed out to Aira Force early on Friday morning for what turned out to be the driest part of the whole weekend. Here's some of the photos that I took on a lovely relaxing walk to and from the waterfall. #1 Aira Force beck in autumn colours {} Aira Force Beck by srhphoto, on Flickr #2 Detail shot of Aira Force itself {} Aira Force Beck by srhphoto, on Flickr #3 Rock Pools (I discovered a hole in my welly taking this one) {} Aira Force Beck by srhphoto, on Flickr #4 The upper falls {} Aira Force Beck by srhphoto, on Flickr #5 Rush {} Aira Force Beck by srhphoto, on Flickr Oh, I'll add one more photo of my dog Murphy relaxing and drying out after our walk. {} Murphy by srhphoto, on Flickr Hope you enjoy them, and as usual any comments or feedback are most welcome. Those are lovely--do you have a specialized setup for waterfall photgraphy (e.g. CPL's, grad filter, etc.) or it just a matter of catching a special place at the right time?
Thanks  I deliberately picked a very overcast day to head out to take these photos, but I also had to use an ND filter to get the shutter speed I wanted. Cheers, Simon.
Excellent, thanks for elaborating--I've only glimpsed some of that country from afar on the train between Glasgow and London, but would dearly love to explore it on foot someday.
